This website is a work-in-process for a team of devoted O'Dochartaigh 
(O'Doherty) members sharing and researching their common genealogy.  Each 
being a descendant of Michael 'Mor' O'Dougherty born 1690 in the beautiful 
Laggan Valley, Raphoe, Donegal, Ireland.  This branch of the O'Dochartaigh 
family is indexed as Family Group #529.  Other family groups which are or may be
connected with this family group are:  #639, #1074, and #1100.

This team is involved in a greater project, as well.  They are committed with 
other teams to canvass the entire state of Kentucky for the purpose of 
collecting all known genealogy information on all Dougherty/Daugherty who had 
lived and is living in Kentucky.

As that project progresses, the team will specifically be focused on gleaning 
new found information for this family's database.  If you find a family

connections with each other, we strengthen the entire O'Dochartaigh family.

Michael 'Mor' Dougherty was a storekeeper of "Newlondon Derry", Chester Co,  
PA having left Londonderry/Derry Ireland about 1730 with a large group of 
Irish and Scots-Irish known as the Caldwell Settlement. About 1737/38 he moved 
south and west with many of these people (Crockets, Pattons, Rogers, Clarks) 
into the lands that were later to be called Kentucky.
